AP – President Barack Obama speaks on the economy at the Brookings Institution in Washington, Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 By PHILIP ELLIOTT, Associated Press Writer As you can see, in President Obama's statement, we are going to "spend our way out of this recession". The question of the day is: Spend who's money? The government plans to spend the American Tax-Paying Citizen's money. Uh. oh. That might sound good in a speech or in an interview, and/or look good on paper, but in the long run the potential benefits of this plan will depend upon one major thing: What the money is Spent On. So far the government(s) - this administration and the previous - have spent over $1.4 Trillion on banking bailouts and as of this date almost another $1 Trillion on overseas macho adventures. (click link for total to date costs) Those are dollars in TRILLIONS folks, as in T-REX sized. To put those numbers in perspective, if you hit the lottery for $2 Trillion 4 hundred Billion and the payout was $1 million per year (net after taxes) it would take 2 million 4 hundred thousand years to collect all your money. That's alot of bucks. Uh, oh. This ain't the lottery, no, this is a BILL that the American Tax-Paying Citizens will be paying off until doomsday. The government is determined to practice this quackery medicine and financial witchcraft; poking here, prodding there, reading the entrails of sacrificed critters and wishing and hoping something good will come of all this "spend[ing] our way out of this recession" Well, if that's the case then I think it's time the American Tax-Paying Citizens stand up and demand that those monies be spent on the Right Stuff. What is that? Try this on for size: Previously, I had written two letters to President Obama and I've sent a half dozen or so emails concerning this Solution. I've never heard back. Wonder why? Could it be that I'm a little too sarcastic? Or, could it be that this makes to much Common Sense? The only people who could possibly find an objection to this are the CEO's of Big Oil and Big Utilities. Apparently, those CEO's are the ones calling the shots in this Democracy. Uh, oh, what's wrong with that picture? Look at these two headlines and consider what the future holds for America's Citizens if we don't SPEND that money wisely.
