The graphic novels (and all fictional works and flights of fancy by this author) are merely that, works of fiction. Names, characters, places, incidents and events are either the product of the author's imagination or are used fictitously, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, historical happenings, business establishments, governmental entities, events, or locales and places is entirely coincidental.

Originally, the exchange of artistic thoughts was conveyed upon the walls of caves.

Now, about 32,000 years later an intellectual revolution has taken place with the introduction of the INTERNET or the WORLD WIDE WEB.

Now, any Joe-Six-Pack or Mary-Six-Pack can publish their work almost instantaneously and it can be read by any other Joe or Mary Six-Pack around the World, on the World-Wide-Web, in about 79 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 50 seconds less than Jules Verne ever imagined.

So, what's the point?

I have a stack of books outlined, stories, tall tales, flights of fancy and (I think) readable mish-mash that I would like to present to the reading public.

The problem, and herein lies the rub, is that most people don't want or don't have the time to sit and relax and read anymore. No, the public - be it Joe and Mary on this side of the world or the other side of the world - wants their information and entertainment compressed in a visual format. Hey, as they said on Seinfeld, "There's nothing wrong with that".

But what does it mean?

It means: Graphic Novels.

"One picture is worth a thousand words." Who said that? Probably the cave-person who drew the picture on the cave wall with the charred stick.

So, the moral of the story is that I am seeking an artist to collaborate with. Someone who can take my stories, stick drawings, character descriptions, dialogue and convey the meaning in a visual format; full of clarity and brevity that will make the stories visual and compelling.

I've got the stories, if you've got the Art.

Currently, the graphic novels that are being displayed on this website are made available to be read for free. That is done because the images being used are "borrowed" and it wouldn't be fair to make money using someone else's images. And, unfortunately, I am forced to adapt the story-lines to fit the images which changes the plot somewhat. If the art was original, then the plot / story-lines could be original. I've got the original stories if you have the Art to accompany it.

If you are as serious about your Art as I am about my Writing then let's collaborate.

Below are some samples of my pitiful amateurish drawing ability. I can't draw but I can write, which is half the battle.

3 Dec 09 - The following is dedicated to all the hard-working teachers, and especially to those who taught me how to read.

I AM A BOOK

I am a book,
a collection of words and pictures.
I am unique,
there is no other book just like me.

I am raw materials,
skilled labor, paper and ink.
I am a thoughtful gathering together,
of ideas in the form of symbols and images.

I am humor and horror,
and heroism and folly.
I am comedy and tragedy,
instructions, dreams, hopes and fears.

Like the ideas within me,
I was once, just an idea.
The idea for me, became me,
this book.

Lifted and opened,
the stage lights are illuminated.
The microphone turns on,
and the show, begins.

Unlike a movie on a screen,
my show,
plays in the readers mind,
just as visually, full of color and sound.

But what am I,
to someone who cannot read?
But what am I,
to someone who doesn't read me?

Then, I am merely a husk,
of promised, but lost potential.
Then I am merely a husk, on a shelf,
filling space hopelessly.

Please lift me.
Please open me.
Hold me, and,
read me.

For that is my purpose, my reason for being.
My words and pictures, my thoughts and ideas,
those are my gift to you.
I am a book.

The above examples are proof positive that the studio needs an artist to illustrate the graphic novels. My doodling obviously won't do the job. In direct violation of the Equal Opportunity Act, the Howlin Wolf Studio insists that all applicants must be female, feminine, foxy, single and fun-loving. Talented and hard-working is a plus.
