The Usual Suspects

ROUND UP THE USUAL SUSPECTS

It's difficult to know with who, or where, to start. They're all a bunch of clowns and goofballs. Whom am I referring to? The elected officials of the U.S. government, that's who.

Firstly, let's clarify something on this Sunday May 24, 2009, the day before the National Memorial Holiday. Just like any and all other Honorably Discharged Veterans of the US Armed Forces, I swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution is NOT the government. The elected officials of the United States of America and their appointed functionaries and sycophants are NOT the Government of the People, By the People, and For the People.

The individuals that Americans have elected to Represent them, over the last several decades anyway, have failed in their responsibilities to uphold the Principle and the Promise of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness of the American Citizens.

They're all like a bunch of bickering children on the elementary school yard playground. They can't get any work done, concerning what's important to America and America's citizens, because they're too busy fighting and arguing with each other.

With all the important issues facing the USA, short and long term issues that will impact the Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness of all Americans, the elected officials can only concentrate on sabotaging the other Party's efforts. Why do they do that? Because they can only see as far as the next election cycle. It's more important to them to be elected, or, re-elected than it is to do what is sensible and right for the people who have, or will elect them.

Is that an exxageration?

Consider the following events from the news:

Powell Takes on Cheney, Limbaugh in Battle for Republican Party - MCCONNELL CRITICIZES OBAMA

Dick Cheney's Third Term? - GOP voters disagree on who leads their party

And on and on and on. All Americans see in the newspapers and on the TV news is how the Other Party thinks the Other Party is messing up. Can't these jokers see what they're doing to Our Country? Do they care? The simple answer is: Obviously not.

Please don't misunderstand me - I'm not picking on just the Republicans here, the Democrats are just as bad. During the previous eight years when the Republicans were the Big Bosses, the Democrats did everything in their power to undermine that administration. Except for when the majority of the Democrats in Congress went along with the Republicans to illegally invade Iraq. But, of course, now they don't remind anyone of how they voted - they just place all the blame on the Republicans.

(Note: In the spring of 2003 I was a member of a social club where everyone but me was in favor of the invasion. I chose to resign from that club over the difference of opinion. Not that I was a genius and knew it would be a catastrophe, I just didn't believe in the WMD story. Before the 2004 election I wrote Colin Powell a letter asking him if the reason he resigned as Bush's Secretary of State was because he knew he had been used as a patsy. I never got an answer to that letter. What's Powell doing now? He's hitting the talk show circuits, prepping for the 2012 Presidential Election.)

So, here we are. America has allowed itself to become ruled by another Monarchy. This time it isn't a foreign despot who determines our fate, it's a Homegrown Monarchy.

A monarchy that is composed of, supposedly, fellow citizens who have our best interests at heart.

The only interest the Exalted Politicians' have is their own. They insist that the rulers of other countries sit at the negotiating table, work out their differences and make peace - but, they can't be in the same room with each other without sharpening their throat-slitting knives, much less pass sensible legislation to insure the Constitutional Principle of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness for their fellow Americans.

I hate to tell you this but these jokers can't figure it out. Not the big issues anyway. That's why they waste their tax-payer funded salaries arguing about junk like who can marry who, seatbelt laws, drinking laws, gambling laws, smoking laws, etcetera instead of fixing the Big Problems. They divert everyone's attention away from their inabilities to do anything positive by pretending that all that little stuff is important. They are wasting our Time, Money and Futures.

So, what do we do about it? I'm not suggesting armed revolt or anything; that would only give the Exalted Politicians the excuse to declare Martial Law. And don't kid yourself, the Politicians are slobbering like Pavlov's Dogs for just such an excuse (ever hear of Section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C.)

No, what I suggest is a March From Sea to Shining Sea. This Government of the United States of America belongs to the People of the United States of America - not the Politicians. It's time to take it back.

IT'S TIME TO GET MADDER 'n HELL
